Why is my connection failing?

Browsers strictly enforce Mixed Content security rules. If ToolHub is loaded on HTTPS (which it is), you can only connect to secure wss:// endpoints. Connecting to unencrypted ws:// endpoints will be blocked by your browser.

Do my messages pass through ToolHub's servers?

No. The connection is made directly peer-to-peer between your web browser and your target WebSocket server. ToolHub's backend sees absolutely none of your streaming data.

Can I use this for Socket.io endpoints?

Socket.io utilizes a custom wrapper protocol around standard WebSockets. While this tool can establish the raw WebSocket transport if explicitly targeted, it will not natively parse Socket.io 'events'.

How to use

1Enter the ws:// or wss:// URL of your target server in the connection bar.
2Click 'Connect' to initiate the handshake. The status indicator will switch to 'Connected' upon success.
3Type your JSON or text payload into the Message Broadcaster area on the right.
4Click 'Send Payload' to push the message out. Track 'TX' (sent) and 'RX' (received) streams in the Terminal.
5Use the trash icon above the Terminal Stream to clear your history at any time without disconnecting.
